AFINET partners meet in France to outline the last year of the project

The 5th AFINET consortium meeting was hosted by the French Agroforestry Association and took place in Auch (France), from 27th to 30th November. Over those four days, AFINET partners had the opportunity to discuss how to broaden the impact of AFINET, involve the stakeholders and enhance agroforestry innovations in Europe and how to link Operational Groups to the AFINET thematic network. On the 28th and 29th of November it was time for hard work. Each Work Package leader made an update about milestones achieved and the ones about to come.

The meeting was also a great occasion to meet several French farmers aimed towards a sustainable agriculture. On the first day, participants had the chance to visit a free-range pig holding in Tillac, a farm integrating alley cropping systems transitioning towards an organic production and the agroforestry duck farm Famille Pérès.

The last day was again time to visit farms in Auch surroundings, one of them engaged in the sustainable production of bread, and an organic farm with chicken, pigs and sheep with planted trees for shadow and protection.

The next AFINET consortium meeting will take place in Hungary, in May 2019.
