Operation under the title "Innovative model of herbs production, processing and distribution in the Zielawa Valley” has been chosen for realisation within the Activity Cooperation under the Rural Development Programme for the years 2014-2020.  Cooperation initiated  by the Lublin Eco-Energy Cluster has led to creation of the EIP-AGRI Operational Group „Agroforestry in Zielawa Valley”. The Operational Group includes: Foundation for Lubelskie Development (Leader) and partners: Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – State Research Institute in Puławy, Warsaw University of Life Sciences, ECO-FARM Sosnówka Sp. z o.o. and Ms. Barbara Baj-Wójtowicz – farmer.

The agreement between the leader and payment agency (ARiMR) has been signed on 14th June 2018 in Lublin branch of ARiMR.

The objective of this operation is to develop and implement a sustainable model for the cultivation, harvesting and management of agricultural farm using a new agroforestry system (fruits shrubs/trees intercropped with herbs) and biomass heating system fueled by pellets. As a result, two new products (forest and agricultural) will be created, assessed in terms of sustainability and value chain and placed on the market using an improved marketing method.
